Administrative Assistant

Nijal Topiwala

As an administrative assistant, I support the Programme Administrator but my main focus is on the submissions of Immigration Medicals. I also book patient appointments and answer patient enquiries regarding Immigration Medicals.

I was born in India and shifted with my family to New Zealand when I was five. I am truly living the best of both cultures! Since a child, I have always been talkative, and this turned into an interest in debating at school. While I am still figuring out my aspirations, I know it will always involve talking to people and making a difference!

I joined SSMC because their values aligned with mine. Truly, the people in this medical centre treat patients as valuable human beings and not just a number. I love being a part of a place that goes the extra mile, out of their job requirement to help patients. Despite anything that a patient is going through when they enter our medical centre, I love that we have the opportunity to bring a smile on their face as they leave.

In this fast-paced life, I believe that exercise and getting outside is a big part of one’s health and wellbeing. I think it’s important for people to think about how they can remain active in their everyday lives.

Outside of work, you’re likely to find me with my family somewhere as family time is extremely important to me. Other than that, I could be playing badminton, binging a show or reading a book!
